The Debug Search tool can be very helpful when you are preparing or fine-tuning a search

You can use it to test your search settings - more specifically URL Filters, Email Filters and Text substitution rules - without having to run the search.

All you need to do is input one URL and click Debug and Email Grabber will scan it, showing debug information.

Optionally, you can select the level that the tool can assume the URL would have. This can be helpful when you have different URL Filters for different levels.

The information displayed includes:

  • the content returned by the web server after any text substitution rules have been applied
  • The URLs extracted according to the current URL Filters and the level that would be assigned to each of them
  • The email addresses extracted according to the current Email Filters
